Job Details: Electrical Testing Technician

Location:

Kolkata, West Bengal

Education Required:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

3 – 5 years in Electrical Testing
Experience in the following industries is preferred:

• Railway
• Automotive
• Electrical Components Manufacturing
• Propulsion Systems
• Heavy Engineering Plants

Candidates with hands-on testing exposure in rolling stock or large electrical assemblies will be given priority.

Skills & Expertise Required

To qualify for the role, the candidate must have strong technical skills, including:

1️⃣ Wire-to-Wire Continuity Tests

Ability to perform continuity checks on large wiring harnesses, cable networks, and electrical circuits.

2️⃣ Dielectric (HiPot) Testing

Experience with High Potential Testing (HiPot) to ensure insulation integrity and safety of electrical systems.

3️⃣ Network Testing

Understanding of electrical networking in rolling stock, including communication lines, signal systems, and power distribution.

4️⃣ Functional Testing

Ability to perform functional tests on propulsion systems, electrical panels, control units, and sub-assemblies.

5️⃣ Root-Cause Analysis (RCA)

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve wiring faults, short circuits, open circuits, and component failures.

Candidates must also be capable of reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents.
