Job Overview

Role Summary

The Utility Shift Incharge will be responsible for managing plant utilities during assigned shifts and ensuring smooth operations across production lines such as Cold Rolling Mill, Continuous Galvalume, and Color Coating Line.

The selected candidate will monitor utility systems, manage preventive and breakdown maintenance, and coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams to avoid production disruptions.

This is a shift-based position requiring strong troubleshooting skills and industrial exposure.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will handle the following duties:

1️⃣ Operation & Maintenance of Utilities

• Manage plant utility systems including H₂, N₂, LPG, Propane gas systems
• Oversee compressors, chillers, boilers, cooling systems
• Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to production departments

2️⃣ Monitoring & Control

• Monitor utility consumption levels
• Maintain operational efficiency
• Track energy usage and system performance

3️⃣ Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance
• Respond to breakdown situations quickly
• Coordinate troubleshooting activities

4️⃣ Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams
• Support production units during critical operations
• Ensure seamless communication during shift handover

5️⃣ Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to plant safety standards
• Maintain log sheets and daily reports
• Follow statutory compliance guidelines

This role directly impacts production continuity, making it a critical technical position within the plant.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

✔ 5–8 years of experience in industrial utilities
✔ Prior experience in steel or manufacturing plants
✔ Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
✔ Strong knowledge of gas handling systems
✔ Experience with pumps, compressors, and utility distribution
✔ Willingness to work in rotational shifts

Freshers are not eligible for this role.
