Engineer – Design Vacancy

The selected candidate will work on the design and engineering development of automotive components and assemblies. The role involves creating and modifying engineering designs, preparing manufacturing drawings, supporting new product development and coordinating with various manufacturing functions.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineer – Design will be responsible for:

• Developing and modifying 2D and 3D engineering designs for automotive components and assemblies.
• Preparing detailed manufacturing, assembly and part drawings.
• Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering documentation.
• Performing design calculations, tolerance analysis and feasibility studies.
• Applying GD&T, dimensional tolerances, fits and material specifications in engineering drawings.
• Coordinating with Production, Quality, Tool Room and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Reviewing customer drawings and specifications and converting requirements into production-ready designs.
• Supporting New Product Development (NPD) and engineering changes.
• Identifying design issues and implementing design improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Preparing ECN/ECR and updating drawings and related documents.
• Supporting prototype development, trials, validation and testing.
• Analysing design failures and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintaining proper revision control and design records.
• Coordinating with suppliers regarding design-related technical requirements.
• Following company QMS procedures, APQP/PPAP requirements and applicable automotive standards.

Educational Qualification

B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
