• NO WRITTEN EXAM : Selection will be carried out strictly through shortlisting based on academic merit during the walk-in process.
• Academic Merit Weightage Formula :• 30% Weightage assigned to marks secured in Class-10th (Matriculation) examination.• 70% Weightage assigned to marks secured in ITI / Diploma / Degree examination.
• Document Verification : Original certificates will be verified during the walk-in schedule at Rourkela.
• Medical Fitness : Selected candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Hospital Doctor bearing their registration number.

• Step 1 (Mandatory Portal Registration):• For Trade ITI Apprentices: Register on the NAPS web portal at apprenticeshipindia.org. Search establishment “SAIL ROURKELA STEEL PLANT” and apply for your trade.• For Degree/Diploma Apprentices: Register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in. Search establishment “Steel Authority of India Limited, Rourkela Steel Plant” and submit your application.
• Portal Application Deadline: Complete online portal registration on or before 26 August 2026.
• Step 2 (Walk-In Verification): After applying on the portal, report to the walk-in venue as per your discipline date schedule between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
• SAIL Documents Required at Walk-In Venue : Bring Original Institution Leaving Certificate, Self-attested Matriculation 10th certificate, Provisional Pass Certificate, SC/ST/OBC/PH certificate (if applicable), e-KYC validated Aadhaar card / Passbook printout, Medical Fitness Certificate from Govt. Hospital, and NAPS/NATS Apprentice Registration printout copy.
